Dr. Sean Lin is a driving force behind clean energy innovation, with over 15 years of experience advancing sustainable technologies through engineering excellence and strategic supplier development. As Engineering Director at Bloom Energy, he leads the end-to-end development of critical fuel cell components—from concept design and feasibility to vendor collaboration, process optimization, and scalable mass production. His work has delivered significant cost reductions and yield improvements, helping Bloom Energy accelerate the transition to low-carbon power solutions.
Before joining Bloom in 2011, Sean contributed to core technology development at Lam Research, a leading semiconductor equipment company, where he specialized in supplier design and integration for high-performance systems.
Sean holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Scientific Computing from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from National Taiwan University. He has authored nine technical publications and holds 20+ U.S. patents. Originally from Taiwan, Sean now resides in Silicon Valley, California with his wife and two high school–aged children.
