Shivam Sahu receives the Best Student Paper Award at MSNDC.
Shivam Sahu received the Best Student Paper Award at the Multibody Systems and Nonlinear Dynamics Conference (MSNDC) during ASME International Design Engineering Technical Conferences (IDETC) 2026 for his work on tailorable anisotropic bandgaps in generalized hexagonal lattices. Sahu is a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering at UC Merced, working with Professor Francesco Danzi.
Shivam’s work explores tailorable anisotropic bandgaps in generalized hexagonal lattices, demonstrating how their geometry can be leveraged to control directional wave propagation and engineer highly customizable dynamic behavior.
Congratulations, Sahu!
